Prestigious charity event to be held Saturday, April 17 in conjunction with the
36th annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Costa Mesa, Calif. – Steve Millen, veteran race car champion and the founder and president/CEO of STILLEN, will participate in the professional category of the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race. The event is part of the 36th annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2010.

"I'm excited to participate in one of the world's longest running and most prestigious celebrity/professional racing events," said Millen. "This charity event raises needed money for several children's hospitals in the Los Angeles area."
Millen has the most wins in IMSA GT series history in a more than 30-year race car championship career. For the Toyota race, he will use an identically-prepared race-ready Scion tC in a 10-lap race for charity on the 1.97-mile circuit through the streets of downtown Long Beach. His competition will include actor Keanu Reaves, the returning champion of the 2009 “Celebrity” category; Jimmy Vasser, 1996 CART Champion for Target/Chip Ganassi Racing and current IRL Team owner and Toyota dealer; Tanner Foust, Formula Drift champion and X Games Rally Gold Medalist; and Marty Nothstein, Olympic gold medalist, American professional road bicycle racer and track cyclist.
Millen last competed in the event in 1986. He made his way to the front, and took the lead before being rammed by a celebrity driver in the hairpin turn. The Toyota Celica suspension was damaged and ended Millen’s race day.
The celebrity portion of the race will include long-time STILLEN friend and comedian Adam Carolla, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and actor Christian Slater.
