Deana Groves - Young talent to watch
By Mike Dalenberg

I had an recently had opportunity to meet and talk with a very talented 23 yr old modified driver from Morgantown, WV. - Deana Groves. The very well spoken Fairmont University graduate with a degree in Health Science and a Minor in Nutrition was a pleasure to get to know. Deana made her ARCA Truck Series debut at Toledo Speedway with Wilson Motorsports as part of their driver development program led by veteran driver and team owner - Frank Wilson. After battling a morning of rain and misfortune of mechanical issues with her truck, Deana showed patience and professionalism as the Wilson Motorsports team figured out how to put her on track for the race. Deana unfortunately missed the first practice due to a mechanical issue with her truck and was only able to make 3 slow laps in the second practice after switching with another Wilson Motorsports driver to get some seat time. This was the first time Deana had driven an ARCA Truck and an hour later, Deana got her chance to co-drive in the race with another Wilson Motorsports driver. Deana took over the second stint of the race and showed she could compete with anyone out there. The skies then darkend and rain threatened to come down, but that didn't stop her from getting up to speed. Unfortunatley the race was slightly shortened, but the young dirt modifed driver impressed many as she finished the race with quick laps. I think you will see a lot of Deana in the future, whether it be in dirt modifieds or ARCA Trucks, she will be on the move to the front. Watch your mirrors!
