Patience in motorsports - does it exist?

By Mike Dalenberg

November 20, 2009

Simona De Silvestro went into the Laguna Seca race with a chance to clinch the 2009 Atlantic Series Championship. But unfortunately her chances soon disappeared as she came in contact with 2008 Atlantic Champion Marcus Neimela in the famous "Corkscrew" at Laguna Seca in Oct. 2009 leaving her with a DNF for the race. Was this just a racing incident?. Could this have been avoided? If Simona would have been more patient would she be the 2009 Atlantic Champion? I guess we will never know. What is your opinion.
